Help Erase School Lunch Debt for Camdenton Students
Many families in our district face financial challenges, and sometimes that means a student can accrue school lunch debt. This debt can be a burden on families. Our goal is to ensure that all Camdenton Lakers have access to a nutritious meal every day, regardless of their ability to pay at that moment.
You can make a direct impact on the lives of our students by helping us reduce this debt. Every donation, no matter the size, helps lift this weight off our families and keeps our lunch program focused on feeding kids.
To contribute to this important cause, please visit our dedicated fundraising page.
For more information about school lunch debt and how your donation can help, please contact Nicki Roam or Taylor Girard at (573) 346-9234. Thank you for supporting our students!
Local Food for Schools Grant

The Camdenton R-III School District is excited to announce it has received the Local Food for Schools grant. This opportunity will bring delicious, locally sourced ingredients to student lunch menus starting this November!
This new funding builds a connection between the community’s farms and school cafeterias. It provides the district with funds to purchase fresh food items directly from local growers and producers.
Students can look forward to seeing local milk, pasta, and beef incorporated into upcoming meals. It’s not just about changing the menu, it's about investing in the quality of our food and strengthening our local economy.
The district will also be participating in the Harvest of the Month program. This simple and fun initiative encourages students to try new fruits and vegetables they may not have tasted before.
Taylor Girard, Assistant Director of Nutrition Services, highlighted the widespread benefits of the program.
“This grant is wonderful for everyone involved,” Girard said. “It’s great for our district, it directly supports our local farmers, and most importantly, it’s a healthy win for our students.”
The Camdenton R-III School District is committed to making this a long-term program. Once 80% of the initial funds are used, Girard plans to request additional funding, ensuring this positive partnership with local agriculture continues to thrive.
