Hall of Leaders Recipients
The Camdenton R-III School Education Foundation is pleased to announce that its 2025 Hall of Leaders recipients are Friends of the District Peggy and Marvin Johnson and Friend of the District and Distinguished Alumni Jane Martin. Honorees were inducted at the 2025 Elegant Evening.
“It is an honor to induct Marvin Johnson, Peggy Johnson, and Jane Martin into the Camdenton R III School District Education Foundation Hall of Leaders Class of 2025. This honor is a testament to their dedication and exemplary commitment to the Camdenton School District at the highest levels,” stated Alison Martin, Education Foundation President.
Marvin Johnson and Peggy Gress Johnson were introduced by mutual friends in Charleston, West Virginia, and married on January 20, 1962. Marvin grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1957. He fondly remembers learning “technical school skills” from growing up on a farm and serving in the Air Force. Peggy earned her degree in medical technology with minors in biology and chemistry and returned to school to become a nurse after having their children, Michael and Barbara.
After transferring from Charleston to Chicago, and joining Abbott Laboratories, Marvin’s new job took him to Miami, where he and Peggy discovered a love for boating. After transferring back to Chicago, they found Lake of the Ozarks on a map and thought it would be the perfect place for retirement. Peggy began volunteering at the local trade school. She tutored adult students and coordinated literacy for the trade school’s GED and literacy programs. Marvin became involved in the community by serving as a board member for numerous local non-profit organizations. The Johnsons have contributed numerous scholarships and hours of service to the Camdenton R-III School District.
Jane Martin, president and owner of Dredging Inc. DBS Scott’s Concrete of Camdenton, MO, is a second-generation Camdenton High School graduate. Dredging, Inc. was founded in 1954 by Jane’s grandfather, Bob Scott. Jane began working for the company in her early teens and became company president in 1987.
She was the first female to serve as Chairman of the Board of Missouri Concrete. Over the past 30+ years, her leadership and dedication to employees and the company have impacted its success. She has served on many organization boards and industry committees.
Jane believes in giving back to the community that has been so generous to her family. From generous monetary donations to concrete donations for playgrounds and projects, it would be difficult to measure the total impact of her generosity on this school district and community.
